Standard comprehensive examination

  • Cost: $79.00

  • Medicare rebate: $64.60 or $32.40*

  • Out-of-pocket amount: $14.40 or $46.60*

     * You may receive a lower Medicare rebate if:
    • You’re under 65 and had a comprehensive eye exam in the last 3 years, or
    • You’re 65 or older and had a comprehensive eye exam in the last year,
    and there are no new changes or concerns with your eye health.

Brief follow-up examination

  • Cost: $42.00

  • Medicare rebate: $32.40

  • Out-of-pocket amount: $9.60

Diabetes eye examination (with dilation)

  • Cost: $89.00

  • Medicare rebate: $64.60

  • Out-of-pocket amount: $24.40
